Character: Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock/Dr Strange
Tools Used: Mechanical Pencil, 4B, 6B, and 8B Pencils. Paintbrushes for blending.

IT'S DONE! I've finished the Benedict Cumberbatch portrait for the Edmonton Expo (Table G11 - during 2016 if you're coming by for a print. They'll also be at the 2017 Calgary Expo).

IT'S DONE! I've finished the Benedict Cumberbatch portrait for the Edmonton Expo (Table G11 - during 2016 if you're coming by for a print. They'll also be at the 2017 Calgary Expo).
First drawing was a fail (all I could see was David Hasslehoff), and so I restarted it. Second one went much better, but it still took me several tries to get his face right. I was also surprised by how much definition he has. I suppose I was expecting him to be thinner and a bit softer.
When I did the poll on whether I should draw him more like Sherlock or Dr. Strange (the poll was across several different platforms, not just DA), it pretty much came up split. Since that was no help, I just figured I'd see what came out of the pencil.
You might wonder why I'd draw him wearing a watch...well, it appears that Mr. Cumberbatch is never without one! Like ever! I mean he wears a lot of jackets too, but I was actually able to find pictures of him without one where is wasn't on set, unlike the watch. So in it went!
