Tools Used: Mechanical Pencil, 4B, 6B, and 8B Pencils. Paintbrushes for blending.
Wow did this take a long time! And while I fail at planets, I'm really happy with it. This was one of those pieces where I pushed myself, specifically with the armour. I hate drawing things that structured and with so many lines! SO MANY LINES! Still, I wanted to, because I'm (not so secretly) crushing over Master Chief. Man I love this game series. Both my laptop and car have the UNSC logo on them...cause I'm just that much of a geek!
Also, there was a lot of hunting for reference images. I wanted to show scarring where he was operated on to become a Spartan. So that origins clip was great for that. That's also where the 117 tattoo came from.
This was the perfect character to do a back picture of, since they never show John's face, except as a child.
